Our last and final stop on tour was gorgeous Denver, CO. We arrived just mere hours before a giant blizzard that caused us to cancel our first show in town, so the cast enjoyed the first two full days here show free. And boy did we need the rest! This was by far our busiest two weeks! With an eleven show stretch before Christmas day and the addition of a very fun and special Christmas cabaret, we needed all the energy we could get! Because of such a packed schedule, and because a bit of exhaustion had crept in, sight seeing was kept to a minimal. But thank goodness we stayed in the heart of downtown Denver, full of charm and history, so there was always something to do! Whether it was ice skating or walking around Union Station or Larimer Square, no matter where we went Christmas cheer abounded!
Here I was in Denver…I stumbled along with the most wicked grin of joy in the world, among the bums and beat cowboys of Larimer Street. - Jack Kerouac, On The Road
Our gorgeous view from the 17th floor of our hotel, which Deanna and I were lucky enough to live on!
Our first night in town, Nikhil had us all over to his parents house. The above photo of Charles holding one of Nikhil's family photos at the dinner table is possibly my favorite take away from that night!
While in Denver, we had our Secret Santa reveal and a BIG surprise, little Dylan (one of our Ralphie's in the show) was my Secret Santa! For a month he gifted me with beautiful jewelry, lots of wine, comfy socks and cute knick knacks! Couldn't be more thankful!
Unfortunately, Thatcher knew that I was his Secret Santa right away, which made me mad. He's too smart for me! But luckily he enjoyed all his gifts! Here he is with his final gift, a German beer stein I snagged at a Christmas market in town.
There was eggnog in that beer stein, by the by.
On the night of Dec. 23rd, we performed a very special and unforgettable Christmas cabaret at The Hard Rock Hotel in Downtown Denver. It was a blast!!!
Also, Peter Billingsley came to the show! THE Ralphie! He was one of the original producers when the show came to Broadway, and I had been wanting to meet him since I knew I'd be doing this show last year! He was awesome!
Also, there's a Snarf's in Denver, my favorite sandwich shop in the world. I was in heaven
And now, lots of photos of our time on the rink!
In beautiful Larimer Square!
On Christmas Eve, I wore this little number all night. Don't ask me why.
The following day, we all got in a giant school bus and headed to JJ's Chinese and Seafood Restaurant for Christmas dinner. Truly some of the best Chinese food I've ever had!
My darling show family, the Schwartz's! And the boys didn't even plan on matching...
Big thanks to all I dragged out the day after Christmas to My Brother's Bar, only to find out that it was closed :(. Famous for where Jack Kerouac and Neil Cassidy used to hang, I hope when I return I can make it here and it will be open!
Thank you for the fantastic times Denver! You were truly the best place to spend the holidays and close out this unforgettable experience!
