I heard somewhere long ago that it's mandatory to do something really big for your 26th birthday. Having known we were going to land in Spokane, I didn't really picture the 'big' aspect of the celebration being fulfilled, however I was pleasantly surprised and proven wrong by the best birthday I've ever had! I arrived a day earlier than the rest of the group to meet Rob for a week long celebration and right away I was thrilled to find that Spokane was much hipper than expected! A darling, picturesque city with gorgeous snow laden roads, toasty cafe's, cute toy shops perfect for holiday shopping, delicious food and bars with local music to dance the night away! I left Spokane more in love than I arrived and also brimming with recommendations for spots to visit if you ever find yourself in the gorgeous Pacific North West!
Our hotel and theatre were right next to Spokane's Riverfront Park! It is beautiful with winding roads, tons of Christmas decorations and a giant Radio Flyer structure that unfortunately I never got to go on because of the rain and snow. Next time!
SO many gifts on my birthday at my dressing room station!
Some of my favorite spots for eats were: Madeleine's Cafe and Patisserie- perfect for a birthday breakfast celebration! Brews Bros- delicious coffee and relaxed atmosphere where we spent a whole afternoon by the fire playing chess. Soulful Soups and Spirits Lounge- Soup shop by day, bar by night! This was the first spot we ate at and goodness it was the best soup ever!!! Atticus Coffee and Gifts- A hip coffee shop with an adjoining gift shop full of locally made arts. Steelhead Bar and Grille- Suze and I came here for a date night after Rob left and lounged by the fire! So cozy! Zola- THE BEST spot for fantastic live music with THE BEST Moscow Mule's! It was the perfect place to celebrate my bday night!
Clinkerdagger- Steakhouse located in the old flour mill right on the river where Rob took me for my big bday celebration! I kept laughing at the toilets, as shown below!
It was a perfect week! Next stop, San Francisco, CA!
